Dive in with Anemone
Montreal based band Anemone, is taking listeners back in time, with it’s one of kind, colourful synthy arrangements, dreamy echoing vocals, and a fun loving, we do what we want attitude.
Anemone is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Chloé Soldevila, who sought out other musicians who she felt would best produce the sound that is now Anemone.
The band is comprised of Chloé Soldevila on keyboards vocals, Zachary Irving on guitar, Samuel Gemme on bass, and Elephant Stone band members Miles Dupire-Gagnon on drums, and Jean-Gabriel Lambert on guitar.
Although Soldevila is the leading front man, the band boasts an overall collaborative creative process and production of music.
The name “Anemone” is loosely based off of a song by Brian Jonestown Massacre, that is not unlike some of their own in terms of a psychedelic, dream pop style.
Anemone has a refreshing sound that tugs on familiarity but takes you somewhere new and out of this world. With jangling guitar riffs, and airy mystical melodies, the group criss-crosses over various genres including, space-age/french pop, Krautrock, and 60s soft rock. In other words, Anemone produces music that is a mix of sunshine and nostalgia. The groups’ music fuels the soul and makes you want to grab your friends and boogie.
Anemone is currently touring the US, promoting their new full length album Beat My Distance, that was released last week on February 15th following the recent release of the bands EP, Baby Only You & I, in April of last year. After the recent LP release, Anemone has already received wild praise and support from fans.
